The League of Historic American Theatres

This week, the world of Historic Theatres travels to Cleveland Ohio for the annual League of Historic American Theatres conference. This nearly week-long event is a must-attend for anyone involved with an historic theatre. As a veteran now of 9 such gatherings I can attest to their value. Disclosure – I have been a member of the League for 10 years, and in fact served on the National Board of LHAT for four years. Not only is the best place to gather resources, information, and ideas, but it is a great way to meet fellow theatre people who will become friends and resources for years to come.

The conference moves from city to city each year and attendees therefore get to see the best theatres in the country in a way that would not be possible as a single civilian. Past conferences have been in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Los Angeles and about 20 other cities.
